Meeting Notes
4/22 Board Update:
This week our board all went to WIB’s Heritage Dinner, put on by the Diversity Committee instead of having our traditional meeting. That being said, with the semester winding down, we’ve been focused primarily on executing our final events of the semester, including the Visitas Mocktail Mixer for the class of 2030 and our Career Development-led partnership dinners with Harvard Business School professors. In this next week we’re looking forward to a WIB Barry’s Bootcamp class and an event with J. Crew at their store on Newbury street.
4/15 Board Update:
With our last couple weeks of events mostly set, our board turned its attention this week to our conferences and treks for Fall of 2026. IBC and BOLD are finishing up their speaker and sponsor outreach and are continuing to work out the conference details.
The Expeditions committee added a trek to J. Crew’s Newbury Street location for this spring, along with its continued planning for the New York City trek upcoming in August. Membership Development welcomed its newest class of WIBterns last week and will host our Mocktail Mixer for Visitas on April 26th before they turn their attention to planning the Fall 2026 WIBternship program.
4/8 Board Update:
Over the past few weeks, our board has been hard at work planning a slate of programming. We’re excited about our upcoming range of professional and social events—from faculty dinners and case workshops with HBS professors to large-scale gatherings like our upcoming Heritage Dinner on April 22nd and Visitas programming. Our teams are also actively preparing for our bigger events, including the New York Trek, IBC, and BOLD 2026, with outreach underway to top firms and high-impact speakers.
Across committees, we’ve focused on expanding alumni engagement, building new partnerships, and creating new ways for WIB members to get to know each other. As we head into the final stretch of the semester, we’re excited to end out the year on a high note for WIB!
4/1 Board Update:
We are heading to the end of this spring semester with a busy and exciting schedule!
Career development is hosting dinners with HBS faculty on April 23rd and 28th and a case study on April 24th. The committee will also be hosting Sophia Kianni, co-founder of Phia on April 10th for a fireside chat. Expeditions is holding an event for other WIB groups in New England on April 11th for a picnic by Weeks Bridge. Finally, Membership Development is planning on hosting admitted students for a Mocktail Mixer over Visitas weekend to welcome the class of 2030 to WIB!
Across our whole board, we are continuing to make preparations for upcoming treks, both New York City and international, and IBC and BOLD next fall.
3/25 Board Update:
This past week, our board worked on planning lots of new exciting activities, both social and professional!
Some of our most recent events have included a Hidden Figures Movie Night, a St. Patrick’s day social, and a visit to McKinsey’s Boston Office. On March 31st, we will be having a dinner and coffee chat opportunities with Mastercard, and the alumni committee is hosting a consulting panel as well. We will be hosting a service day on April 3rd, when we will be making care packages for the Cambridge Women’s Center. Please note that attending at least one service day is required for all committee and board members.
We are continuing to work on setting up other opportunities, particularly with Harvard Business School and female founders. Membership Development is also excited for its new class of Spring WIBterns to graduate in April, and the committee will help welcome them to WIB with a WIBtern Town Hall and mentorship opportunities from WIB upperclassmen.
